Both very well composed Andrew but I feel that they suffer from too much brightness, particularly at the back. I think there is a lot more detail to be pulled and recovered from this shot in the far hill and the clouds. Of the two I think I much prefer the black and white, for winter feel, well you know how it is, some days colour just interferes with the senses :-)

@Curly: Thanks, I prefer the B&W shot too. I received your email and feel your image lacks contrast compared to mine but probably agree that I could pull some more detail out of the snow covered mountains in the background. I agree with you about the brightness of the colour shot but only in the grass near the rocks at the bottom right, I should tone that back again. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it's good to get feedback.
